I was thinking today about how when I first started selling my handwoven wearable art at craft shows and to stores, I didn’t really consider going much further with my marketing. Getting inventory for events and keeping the shops happy, kept me busy enough from week to week.

But in these times, it seems we need to consider looking at more places to sell crafts as a form of insurance that a bad performing craft show or a store closing doesn’t knock out our whole craft business.

It may make sense to add in several places to sell crafts and several of those are geared for selling crafts online, like ebay, etsy, and some of the other sites. Finding more stores can be faster through a site like wholesalecrafts.com. Mail order catalogs like The Sundance Catalog could also help round out the mix.

And then there’s tried-and-true home parties for selling crafts.
